Going Global for World Space Week 2025

October 13, 2025 – Amateur radio enthusiasts around the world helped make this year’s World Space Week a memorable global event, thanks in part to the enthusiastic response to the ARISS SSTV challenge. From October 3 through October 9 (with the exception of several pauses for preplanned school contacts), we broadcast 12 unique space cooperation-themed images from the ham radio in the ISS’s Zvezda service module.

From October 3 through October 12 (the cutoff for submissions), we received nearly 9,000 images from more than 3,600 enthusiasts. We received submissions from all continents, including three from Antarctica. Leading the submissions was Europe, with approximately 40% of all uplinks to the ARISS SSTV gallery, followed by Asia with 23% and North America with 14%.
